Helene Hammer credits yoga with helping her find calm, clarity and joy in her hectic life. She has been teaching in public schools since 1978 and practicing yoga since the year 2000. Helene is certified through Kripalu and Radiant Child. Her style is fun and playful, encouraging students to notice sensation without judgement and let go of stress.

Kathy MacLeod:  A yoga student for over ten years, she has taught yoga in Northern Virginia for the past two years.  She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga AllianceŽ (200 hours).  Kathy’s teaching style is variously described as clear, patient, and positively charged.  She makes every effort to involve students regardless of practice level.  Classes emphasize movement and proper alignment.  Goals are tailored to the needs of individuals in each class with a focus on strength, flexibility, and endurance.  Usage of props and modifications to poses are encouraged.

Nancy Talley has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. She is a RYT at the 200-hour level & completed her teacher training at the White Lotus Foundation under Ganga White and Tracey Rich. Nancy began her yogic journey in 1999 while working in the fashion industry in Los Angeles. The pressure of looming deadlines left her feeling stressed and unable to sleep well, so she began talking yoga classes. With the encouragement of her friends, family and yoga instructors at Yoga Madre in Arcadia, CA she decided yoga teacher training a natural choice- but when to do it? When her husband applied for a job at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. and suddenly moving across the country became a reality, she could think of no better time. Nancy attributes her quick assimilation from West to East Coast due to a good, solid yoga practice.

Marla Pelletier, Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200 hour level with over 1000 hours of teaching, began her Yoga career in 2006. After seeing the effect of using yoga with her students in Bangkok, Thailand, she enrolled in a teacher training program in India and continued her study for 5 months. She trained in 2009 with Amy Weintraub in LifeForce Yoga, which is Yoga therapy for Anxiety and Depression. Marla believes strongly in our capacity to heal ourselves through holistic means and knows that the healing brought about from yoga can penetrate the mind, body, emotions and spirit.
